Madness Or What?

So what’s new? Greece is in trouble again. Check out the video above. Protestors are rioting against an IMF bailout. The police is firing tear gas at them. The IMF itself is in a mess. They don’t need anybody firing anything at them to be this messy. Another important lesson to learn from the above video. Water and tear gas don’t go together. It makes it worse. I learned that in the army.

Meanwhile, in the South China Sea, a diplomatic storm is brewing. Vietnam has conducted a live-firing exercise. The Philippines is sending out its most formidable warship – a World War 2 relic in response to China’s latest naval muscle-flexing. Singapore welcome these ships into our docks, stressing that they are “civilian patrol ships”. We really know how to choose our friends. Even a filthy beggar may one day find himself in the position to kill or save you simply by lifting a finger. I don’t like to make enemies unnecessarily.

Closer to home, the turmoil on the streets of Athens has translated into market sentiments. Things are looking so bad that the STI may soon fall through the bottom of 3000. Bucking that trend completely, 5-room flats at Tampines are going at $880k! Toothfully, things don’t make much sense these days. Before long, we’re probably going to see people selling their kidneys to buy a flat. Well, at least it’s not as crazy as selling a kidney to buy an ipad. I wonder if it’s really me who’s going crazy.
